Sitting on the number 16
Trundling along gravel paved streets
my mind blank like a fresh clean sheet
'theres room up top' the conductor says
          as can plain be seen

past the graveyard at which i stare
at all the ghosts living there
past the park and all the hares
my mind wanders to tigers and bears

Along over dead mans wharf
and over jumpers bridge
stories conjured in my mind
room up top for anything i find

Past the old abandoned rail
where the brave kids play
daring dares along the tracks
After the light of the day

Along the back streets
and around the house
and hungry vampire feed
on cat, man and mouse.

Past the tracks,  men in macs
huddled round the pond
sell the secrets of the land
while ducks eat from their hands

Past hangmans pike
and deadmans dyke
and through haunted wood
i sit and watch undead stalk the neighbourhood

along evergreen road
and highstreet east, on into the town
my journeys nearly at its end
as everyone climbs down.

I arrive on time as the 16 pulls in
stopping right outside the building
that i am working in
I love my job here at the ministry

The very deep did rot: O Christ!
That ever this should be!
Yea, slimy things did crawl with legs
Upon the slimy sea.

Hmm..No. 16 is either a train, or a tram...

but an excellent read, nonetheless....
