Tribute to the Invisibles (Part I)

I just can't imagine that world of pain
of broken down houses
and fire stealing your breath
And I can't see the darkness
that's keeping you down
and showing the sweetness of death

But then I remember the shouts
and the screams
and the tears I always hid in my heart
Where the bruises received
mirrored shattered glass dreams
and I was frozen and lost to the dark

It stands all too clear in my
mind what you know, and I
say 'Princess, be strong.'
Let them not see your pain
give them nothing to gain
and the darkness will last only so long

"Our time is like a dance of death whose uncanny rhythm is understood by few.  Everyone whirls confusedly without seeing the abyss." - Countess Ballestrem-Solf, 1948

This was great. I especially love the sense of hope given at the end. Very well done here Matadora....

By the way- Love the alias

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

Good poem.  I understand it to be about abuse?  If so I am sorry that such things happen.  Joyce

My spanish blood soars, to hear your pain, when it should be filled with passion. I too sense abuse in your writings, that no should have to endure.

This is touching and beautifully tradgic
your rhyme scheme and cadence is excellent
the emotions expressed reach deep.
Welcome to Passions...
your entrance make a strong poetic first impression.
I look forward to part 2 and also more of your work.
take care
