~*~ A Single Owl Feather ~*~

I have begun to think life is about living a dream,
I suppose it’s the same for any woman or man.
When in life your cards are dealt, you play them out,
All the choices lay right there in your hands.

You have a choice to covet your cards really close,
Always afraid to take a chance to play out your hand,
Or you can throw in your lot, and bet all you’ve got,
Take a chance on living, and be a brave woman or man.

It takes a strong woman or man to live for their dream.
You need determination, and incredible drive.
You have to allow yourself to go with the life force,
As living is only for those not afraid to be alive!

I feel such overwhelming sadness in this spring moon,
I feel the breath of her mysterious spirit it seems.
I felt her in the land, and the lake, and the trees
I felt her moving in the hills, and in the streams.

As this April earth comes alive, its body and blood,
Sprouting of life, such a joy begins to unfold.
All around me is born again in freshness and flood,
A gentle spirit’s birthing can be retold and retold.

The earth, swelled with new life, cycles and turns,
Somehow never ending but always just begun.
The mystery weaves with the wind through the trees
For another spirit fading dark into the sinking sun.

No sound of a word, but the spirit is heard,
In the distance, an owl’s hoot rises and breaks.
As the scream of the osprey cuts through the wind
So, the sacred wolve's call echoes and fades.

In velvet soft darkness embracing the land,
In the quiet of the breath that she breathed,
The sound of her laughter somehow I can hear,
In the gentle breeze, through the budding trees.

In the dark when the clouds come sliding by,
Illuminated by the moon shining into the night.
I swore I saw her spirit drifting happily by,
In the glow of the palest moonlight.

As I think about life, dying, and the cards,
I wonder sometimes what life holds in store.
And just as I felt anger creeping into my mind,
A single owl’s feather softly landed onto my floor.

Mysteria,  I really liked this poem.  It is beautiful.  And you are also an artist in your presentation.  Joyce

Joyce thank you, but it is the artist's work that inspires me, and as someone once said to me, most of the work is already done by the artist when I write about art.  I guess I just finish it up some.  This work of art, spoke to a recent tradegy in our family well.

This brings about many thoughts to me and relates to soul seeking. I do hope you find what you are seeking as you ponder.
One finds his life as he looses it. But looses it if he hangs on to it.
Peace

Aloha with warmest regards, Koko

MyFriend~
You are encircled by many spirits walking~

'No sound of a word, but the spirit is heard'

I do not need to tell you that this is beauty~
For your heart knows it is so~

Many peaceful thoughts float gently through this piece ...
shared of a pure heart~

Love and hugs~

Mysteria, there is beauty and peace and strength in this message. Fabulously presented as you always do---but this poem is so beautifully spiritual I will keep this one close to my heart this day. Thank you.

Mysteria the imagery in this is divine, as is the message of intent...
wonderful, empowerment writing
very well done poetess of spirit

Though my soul may sit in darkness,
It will arise in perfect light.
For I have loved the stars too fondly ...
To be fearful of the night.

When a single poem takes sadness and joy, giving up and going on, weakness and strength, fear and courage, death and life, mystery and understanding, the physical and the spiritual, and anger and acceptance... and weaves them into such a seamless whole, it's a poem for reading and re-reading and reading again. Beautiful!

Marge: I am indeed surrounded by many! I am truly blessed.  You gave me peace.

Serenity: Yes, this is quite spiritual and perhaps I posted it in the wrong place, but I am glad it is a "keeper".  Thank you.

Irish Rose: Again, yes quite spiritual, and as your Gramma used to say, Shalom!

Martie: I am glad you enjoyed it, and felt it.

Janet Marie: I love your comments they always put a grin on my face from ear to ear you know that?  Thank you.

Suthern: I did not realize I had taken all those factors of life and put into one poem but I guess I did as that is what a death does to you, it puts you in touch with all your senses if you let it do so.  Thank you for reading this and your kind comments are so appreciated.

The peace rests within the fallen feather, the soul continues through the trees, and of this voice we know of its continuance within our hearts.

"I am not now that which I have been."

Interloper: Thank you

Julian: You speak wisely of the next journey and the peace that can be found within it, thank you, the feather now rests, and it is over. (hugs)
