My passing will be as a gentle whisper
Whose words are never heard,
Yet combined with many others
Becoming a breeze moving ever on,
Passing by those left behind unnoticed
Thereby able to touch, and be felt again

Joining with other whispers into breezes likewise
Becoming a wind gaining strength
For in the summer, bringing a small respite
And a temporary consolation
To those who endure the heat
And in winter, a freshness in the cool sweetness
Invigorating, injecting all with a desire for life

Every time I am on the verge of being forgotten
I will blow in from the horizon
Bringing a different memory every time
I pass through the body of those that remember
There are no limits to the places I can go
Nor the people I can touch
In this way I will be eternal,
And my passing will not have been in vain

a poet lives on by the gift of his words...
and this one is proof of that.......
and trust me poet sir....
YOUR words are never in vain *S*
excellent write of poetic epitaph ...
written like that breeze...
very cool PK

Though my soul may sit in darkness,
It will arise in perfect light.
For I have loved the stars too fondly ...
To be fearful of the night.

They were heard today.

I envy your gentle touch PK---My passing? More likely to be as subtle as a Dio concert--I have all the tact of a sledgehammer...
and now I also collect another treasure from your gifted pen!

All can wish for a gentle passing whether that be the breeze that wispers or the wing of a butterfly, as a poet, I am sure of its capture within your words.

"I am not now that which I have been."
