standing on a shadow's lace

Voices

voices
disturb my sleep
echoes, echoes
make me weep
shall I glide
through to the day
or shall the voices
make me pay

when I sleep
I do not rest
this is true
I must confess
some of the secrets
that they tell
make my life
a living hell

bothersome words
I try to ignore
but they lean closer in
whisper more
when shall
they go away
so I can wake
to one decent day

shall I
ever find
the gift of
peace of mind
oh please,
let me pass this test
so when I close my eyes
I rest

"...the rest is silence" (Hamlet)       Shakespeare

Dream a little dream
let mind fix upon the good

Oh, how I relate to this;  it is so perfectly suited to me and yet I long for a good night's sleep.  Bless you!
