Branded
by my mistakes
I shall always wear my sins
splashed in red
across any part of me
that might have been beautiful
in your eyes

So many times I wished
my tears of genuine sorrow
might have washed me clean
in your eyes

They didn't
But yet I found
forgiveness granted elsewhere
Everywhere else,
except with you

And in the end
forgiving myself
meant losing you

A terrible cost
until I realized
your love of perfection
came far above
your love for me

I would have to record every line of this to tell you which is my favorite.  Incredible write!  Thought, emotion...to words!  A great strength of humility to this.

Tessa~
How quickly we learn that there is no such thing as perfection ...

'And in the end
forgiving myself
meant losing you'

A difficult, but wise, decision.

Nicely done.
