Misperception

Say goodbye she said to
me caught so unprepared
I felt myself flinch against
a nonexistent hand
a wrong perceived
more difficult
than a wrong truly spoken
to understand, to remedy
goodbye
wasn’t at all
what she’d intended

Hey

If I could staunch
blood flowing wounds
emotional heart pumps

I might even learn to smile
again yet the Aztec priestess
has cut out my heart it pounds

a last few moments singing
of hope belief dream of one
love never ending pounding fades away away
away away away away wind I hear away away away away

"The most redeeming facet of life is that we have the comfort of knowing it will end. Death doth love equally."

I don't know if my perception is the same as yours, but I am trying. Joyce
