Words

Guarded words
try not to speak without thinking
while hoping still
to evoke a memory of the poetry
written silently upon us
as we lay skin to skin

Narrow balance
maintained by pure will of resolve
prays to be seen
as the pure, simple expression of love
it started out to be
so many unguarded words ago

words wander the landscape
being roads and flora adorning
guiding and deluding we who play in words
too often unkowing
become the violin unstrung
