Love the Elusive Flower

Thinking I stand feet firmly planted
My gaze among the stars
Thoughts dipped in sour apple wine
Drunk with why!
Love I have not found
Answers come and go
But I remain steadily perplexed
Seemingly planting miles of desire
But the yield is sparse dwarfed at best
Love the elusive flower
One can only hope for a glimpse
Some have gifted sight and the power
To hold on to that elusiveness
Their paths plainly marked
May-be I should take up traveling?
I could do no worse except to quit searching
My gaze to the stars could it be misleading?
Should I bring my desires closer to earth?
Seeing others reap rewarding fruitage
Only makes me yearn more for
That elusive elixir rarely captured
May-be I have consumed tainted wine!
Giving blurred vision to much power
Passing over gifted fruits of my labor
Sobering the thought of not ever
Finding that elusive flower and
Drink from its sweet nectar

Yes...yes very elusive...our desires want to take us their...seems better to focus on the beauty of friendships...and if love comes along it will be a bonus...James
