the taste white-washed barnes burnished gold lingers on tongue freshly ground ginger cattle sheared cleanly washed gapping holes empty scars winter whispers not fine wines claret plum diminutive memories life's expended ash shoved through snow croci burlap fibers woven jute saffron dried stigmas "I am not now that which I have been." |
