I have a question
that burns inside my brain
like an entity unto itself
alive inside me
with liquid hands
it slides across my belly
and the answer lies sleeping
dormant
there in my living room

his fingers curl
in tangles of sleep
his dreams dance
across his lips
and I can touch his lips
though not his dreams
not here
here in my living room

silence crawls
through wakes of possibility
but reputation wounds my chance
and leaves it bleeding
on my couch
sprawling
there in my living room

lonelieness keeps
such strange company
the evidence of such
lies peacefully on the floor
and I am left wondering
why I hide my hands
behind my back
every time I want to touch him
secretly
here in my living room

Yes, loneliness does keep strange company, I enjoyed this.  I know the feeling.

To want to touch someone yet hold your hands behind your back...how sad.  Enjoyed your poem!

Thanks all. I know I've been absent lately. I'm working on it, anyway....
Much love all,
