Unbeknownst, to all it creeps,
foreshadow--highlight
laughter's weep
each day to seek
a moment's peace
as accusations line my bed.

Where now do I rest my head?
Marble, cold, in pillow's stead.
And all our dreams a map's pushpin,
re-routing path to suit my whim
in agony of heart in bleed,
I wish that I could ache in stead.

But such grace, it must be earned,
the shiver'd shake of fever's burn
I wish that I were holy, true--
that by faith, my hands heal you.

But my father, I know this.
My life began in loving kiss.
Blessed I, in hold of hand
Blessed I, to understand.
My lips in touch of old hand's grace,
my memory's etching of your face.
As my life began this way...
with love, a kiss-in nurturing
I thank you that it end this way.
Love in lingering each day.

beautiful! And not a piece to be read lightly and forgotten. Many subtle nuances to tease the mind. Great job.

Thank you all for your kindness. This is another for my dad. Sorry I have been so absent lately--as always appreciate your reading, and will be popping in when I can.

HUGS to all.
