You should have listened
When I told you to leave
You should have left
When I begged you please
I could have been a different man
I could have risen from stricken knees

There’s no answer to
The wind’s whispered riddle
There’s no more room
With me caught in the middle
Time keeps destroying us
Little by little

Let love lead us
Further down
Our own Jesus
Let love lead us

I should have listened
To the night’s cold warning
Just as another couple
In passion warming
Woke to find themselves
In the midst of morning

Unlike a fairy tale
With a hidden meaning
And so much desire
Still in feeling
What choice other than
Living or leaving?

Let love lead us
Further down
Our own Jesus
Let love lead us

Somewhere between love and lust
Let love lead us

Is this meant to be a song? It sure reads like one...you should try to find someone who'll write a melody for it. Excellent poem!
