state of confusion

Sea of invitation,
of longing,
adrift in your emerald buoyancy,
I overlook life’s demands,
glide into release.

Each wave ferries a promise
to ride high in your embrace –
journey into invincibility.

Only then
am I home.

Such exhilaration
isn’t made to last, though,
soon
my skin will pucker,
grow cold and blue
in your depths,
and if I don’t find my way
back to shore…

Wonderful imagery Corinne!  This flowed so very nicely, delicate sentiments creating such a tender mood, just lovely!

Best wishes,

Well ... I love sea urchins

Very nice picture. I love the water too. I could see it all as I read along. Great job.

Thank you, Bob. Nice to be able to float along and ride the waves now and then.

Others may 'love' sea urchins - I'm not one - stepping on one is no fun - ~G~ -
but
the poem - is most beautiful - as all of yours are/have been for me
