~*~ Still Mankind Makes The Acid Rain ~*~

~*For Parker's Earth Day Challenge*~

Rapidly moving within the woods,
Hiding their faces under their hoods.
Uninvited creatures of the unknown,
Speaking with an inaudible tone.
Nature dies with a scream of pain,
~*Still mankind makes the acid rain*~

Never even seen nor ever heard,
Unable to catch even the slightest word.
Like ghosts out of forgotten tales,
Pounded into the ground like rusty old nails.
Nature decays with a scream of pain,
~*Still mankind makes the acid rain*~

Death will come for all in time,
Up our backs, our fate will climb.
Slowly but surely killing our mind,
Soon there’s no one left to find.
Nature dies with a scream of pain,
~*Still mankind makes the acid rain*~

Acid in the rain has it’s in our mind,
Irrational thoughts is all you'll find.
Slowly but surely with the passing time,
Up our spines, death will climb.
Nature decays with a scream of pain,
~*Still mankind makes the acid rain*~

Life like this were once in tales,
Useless corpse like bent old nails.
Not a word is spoken or heard,
Not a mind left to say a word.
Nature dies with a scream of pain,
~*Still mankind makes the acid rain*~

Creating beasts of the unknown,
Life has taken a brand new tone.
Slowly eating away our remaining woods,
As scientists hide under their hoods.
Nature decays with a scream of pain,
~*Still mankind makes the acid rain*~

Nature dies, our minds decay,
Darkness envelops each of our days.
No one left with a pure enough mind,
Everyone’s crippled, deaf or blind.
Killing our earth, it's so insane,
~*Still mankind makes the acid rain*~

Hearth of acid. Hearth of death,
Acid rain steals our very breath.
We say good-bye to those who live,
We give to them what we can give.
A hint of purity. Relief from pain,
~*Still mankind makes the acid rain*~

For what purpose I still don't know,
I guess we'll sit back and watch the show.

~*~ And cry at the demise of a place we call home ~*~

Our Lesson For Today Boys and Girls Is Acid Rain

Acid deposition - commonly called acid rain - is caused by emissions of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. Although natural sources of sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides do exist, more than 90% of the sulphur and 95% of the nitrogen emissions occurring in eastern North America are of human origin. These primary air pollutants arise from the use of coal in the production of electricity, from base-metal smelting, and from fuel combustion in vehicles. Once released into the atmosphere, they can be converted chemically into such secondary pollutants as nitric acid and sulfuric acid, both of which dissolve easily in water. The resulting acidic water droplets can be carried long distances by prevailing winds, returning to Earth as acid rain, snow, or fog.

Mysteria - you write many words of truth. I do not know why the acid rain they make either. All I know is that they are killing this planet.

This scourge upon our earth is pitious indeed and you address it so very well.  Unbelievably, just one contribution a day per person could make such a difference.  One refrained cigarette, one walk to the store, one re-used garbage sack, one recycled can-multiplied by the billions its affects would be astronomical.
