Parchment Dreams
Virginia Salter

swept up in romance,
etched with joy,
mesmerized on wings of fantasy,
that’s where I fancy myself
caught up in
parchment dreams--
love letters
of India ink and quill
feathering my pillow
as downy fluff,
that I might rest in pure,
peaceful, powerful love
