~*~And Honey, I Love Your Easter Bonnet Too!~*~

You tickle my heart,
As you stand there before me
Such a perfect, porcelain doll,
Preening in your own image.
I need more than a lifetime,
To simply sit and stare at you.
Then, as we walk together
Down the scented spring
Blown path of Easter Avenue,
Our steps are so feathery.
We, so close, leave a solitary shadow.
Laughter and joy sprinkles
The air in remnants of sunshine,
As moonshine plays tag on your face,
Brushing over youthful, rosy,
Butterfly soft cheeks,
Falling over long eyelashes,
Dripping onto your sweet lips
That ever so quietly kiss
This night air as you speak.
The fragile breeze laps
At this cool calm and just
Barely touches your silken hair.
I weave my weathered hand
Into your sifting velvet fingers,
So soft in their reverence.
You look up at me and melt my heart.
Your supple skin gleams
Underneath the shadows of
The envious trees we walk beneath.
Branches long to caress the moistness
Of vitality and life you contain.
I dance in a downpour of awe
Showered upon that which
I treasure and hold dear.
One perfect little angel
Made in his image stands before me,
So proud of her new Easter bonnet.
Nursery rhymes so sweetly sung,
Slip between her pearly teeth
Raining gently upon my parched
Loving, and worshipping ears.
I could bask in this glory
For evermore, into infinity.
My ears follow the musical purity
Found in sweet, innocent voice.
My eyes stroke the delicacy of her face,
And my heart absorbs her tenderness.
I tempt the elasticity of time,
Stretching it beyond all limits,
Before I am wrenched from your side.
So within my forced stability,
I sit here and dream of you,
And give thanks at this Easter time
For all the beautiful times you've given me.
And Honey, I love your Easter bonnet too!

A very touching read, Sharon. I want to see the REAL pictures when they are ready!

Kate, I can hardly wait for those pictures to come, and you got it - will scan them over to you - oh the age of technology.

Irish Rose - thank you for reading this, and I bet you are going to look smashing in a bonnet yourself this weekend?

That Easter bonnet is tied on with heartstrings, Sharon, and you touch many of them with this poem. Your love looks beautiful in written form
