state of confusion

On Water

Not a river really,
but a shallow,
translucent brook,
coolly alluring.

The rushhhhhhhh
sound triggers
some primeval
memory,
songs of womb
and mother.

Slowly,
it meanders.

Here and there,
random
mini-falls
burst into
operettas
so familiar,
the words
flow
over tongues lost.

If you listen
intently,
you might
catch
the translation,
forget-me-not.

Corrine,
You're right about that allure of the meandering brook.  Always enjoy it.
Thanks for sharing your own special view.

Rivers are wonderful muse, oceans get all of the attention!  I loved this.
