the day is done
and again, I seek solace
in the words of my heart
words that I write only for you
but alas
my heart find none there
for want of needing you so

although you are close my love
it seems as if you are a
thousand miles away
looking at a moon
that is meant for two
as it casts its light
upon your lonely heart

and so my love
my pen again finds
the parchment of my heart
as I begin to write
the words that I pray
will bring you closer to me
if only for a moment

and in that moment my love
our hearts shall be joined as one
our love will be made new
and our lives my love
our lives
will never be the same

Parchment of heart....

sometimes my heart,
skin,
soul,
thoughts,
sentiments,

feel just like that....

Sven....this is lovely!

Isn't it strange that when darkness comes we become lonely. Are does that just mean we're scared of the dark and don't want to be alone.
Oh well, it doesn't matter, what matters is that in you it brings out an extrodinary POET.
BEAUTIFUL as usual.

Sven,

This is wonderfully and tenderly romantic.  Thanks for sharing such a nice piece.

I liked the message, but it's been a long time, since anyone said "alas" to me. I thought it was a classic poem as that and other phrasing was so strict.  Pardon me, if I'm wrong!
