I'm Sorry

I suppose you have been Michelle all along.
I just thought you were someone else.
Time did tell that the Michelle I thought I knew so well was not the same as you.
I thought your heart could be my own
but I only managed to impress your clone.
Certainly this was not the real Michelle.
Will the real Michelle please step forward
to claim the prize of me
or have you already taken one to many steps away.
Have you even considered coming back to me?
If you did would you stay?
I miss the sweet side of you Michelle.
Of course I miss your sweet kiss as well.
Oh mine eyes have seen the glory of silky elegance
and my heart now lingers in sorrow in lack of sweet caress.
I loved it when so much of you was mine.
When we were close enough to gaze into each others eyes and kiss away the time.
And now I can only hope tomorrow will provide the missing kiss.
The one I miss today.
The kiss I seem doomed to miss.
How sorry I am that you went away.
Yes I always liked you beter when you were Michelle.
Your kisses were so soft and sweet and much more plentiful.
It seemed we had all of the time in the world to enjoy each others company.
Sunday morning hikes and Sunday evening movies.
It was so nice to kiss the most beautiful woman in the world.
Those were magic moments in your arms.
Now special thoughts live within my heart.
But of course you have always been Michelle.
It was I who never quite understood
who you are and where I stood.
Remember when you used to say "You don't know me."
I'm sorry I never could.
Michelle if you would take the time
to let me I would.

Strange how hindsight allows us to see things more clearly...but annoying when the thing we are looking back on was a once in a lifetime thing. I appreciate what you're saying in this beautiful piece. Enjoyed the read. Keep smiling

sometimes it's very hard to let a person know how you feel, this is very heartfelt, Sometimes we know the person, but don't want to really get to know them.

I could feel every word of this!
