BLOWIN’ A HOLE IN MY ZEAL Virginia Salter I went for a walk in the sun wind was a blowin’, subtractin’ my fun yet the reward in the mid of my journey moved me little less well than a gurney with the wind at my back I kept up my attack and reached a fine pizza buffet when the eatin’ was done of bright sun there was none I was forced to succumb to a walk in the gray with a face that gave way to the wind blowin’ me back the chill that it brought to my head filled me with pain and with dread would the ear that I held due to wind so compelled ever be warm again? two miles through looking hard so for you to save me the one mile left I was walking for health but in spite of myself that wind was a blowin’ a great hole in my zeal by the way it was makin’ me feel. ©April 5, 2000 |

VAS, What a great title- it was the title that brought me in. The piece reflected the title. Panne |
