~*~ Two Fairies Who Lived In A Tree ~*~

Now a long time ago there lived two tiny fairies,
That had made their home in a trunk of a tree.
They were content there in that itty, bitty space,
Because they were just two wee fairies you see.
~*~
One fairy, Sugar, was as fat as an elephant’s hat,
And the other fairy, Lemon, was as thin as a dime,
Just two little fairies living all by themselves,
In a hollow tree, that was all covered with vines.

One night a loud noise woke them both up,
A horrible bump and thump in the night,
Their beds started rocking and shaking,
In their window came a bright, streaming light!
~*~
“Oh my, Sugar said, “a star’s stuck in our treetop!”
They both ran outside into the night to see.
“We have to find us a way, before it becomes day,
Lemon said, “Let’s get a plan to set the star free.”

They fluttered up their tree to the very top,
And both of them pushed with all of their might –
But the star wouldn’t budge from the tree,
So, they could not send it back up into the night.
~*~
Other stars were watching and wishing,
The commotion brought over the man in the moon,
Sugar scratched her head, came up with a plan,
Then…started blowing up all her stored up balloons.

“What on earth are you doing you silly Sugar fairy?
Lemon said, “Now is not the time for you to play!”
Sugar said, “Come on, get busy, help me, and hurry,
Let’s get this star stuck in the tree on its way!
~*~
Sugar blew balloons of all colors as fast as she could,
While Lemon searched the forest both near and far,
He was looking for spider webs, to spin into threads,
Well, then…they tied all the balloons to the star.

When they were finished, they set the star free,
And up, up, it floated away into the sky,
Now every night that same star shines so bright,
And winks at the two fairies as it just flies on by.

~*~The End ~*~

Thank you Doreen - my Granddaughter looks on the computer later with her Dad for Gramma's stories, which I have been sending in email as there is no children's section at Pipps so was unsure as to whether or not to post them here.  I do a lot of these and hope your daughter will like them.  I can send them if you like?

You will have unleashed a monster you know that don't you?  I love doing children's poems.  I am so glad you spoke of the child in all of us, for if we let that die we are doomed!  Hugs Marge.

Mysteria this is utterly beautiful, I really love this. Margie sent this as a gift to me to share this truly out standing piece.
I love it, but then you know I'm the eternal child, I believe all I am told, I belive in fairies and magic, angels and delight.
Wonderful poem with a beautiful message

I truly apologize for not thanking you all sooner, I did not even look to see if anyone read this, and I do thank you so much for reading and enjoying it.  I will definitely give you some more of these, as nothing makes me happier in the entire world, than making children (of all ages), smile!

Marsha ~ thank you - and yes I am working on several right now actually.

Bloomingrose ~ I shall be pleased to add some (I have a three year old Granddaughter so I know they love them and it is good for them too!)  Thank you.

Nan ~ Hehehe - I am so glad.

Marsha ~ Have I got one for you (being in England you will get a kick out of this one), so I shall spruce it up, post and send it to you. Thank you for reading.

Melissa ~ I swear you must have the biggest library of anyone on the internet, and I am truly honored take a wee corner.  *winks*

Thank you all again, and sorry I missed  you.

A wonderfully priceless gem you've penned ... I'm going to link this to a few friends with little ones ... it'll be a hit as a bed time story

Cerenity: I am thrilled people like my "bananna stories" that is what we call the ones Gramma makes up, and I will post more, as I see there are some of us who wonderfully still are young at heart!  Thanks for reading.

Sunshine: You wait, your turn is coming and then I will put all your silly stories in the pile, and then I don't have to write so many
