Perfection Confection
Virginia Salter

life is pure poetry
its pleasure
its pain
its preponderance

pricking at its edges
poking at its plans
piercing its semblance
of peace and poignancy

preposterous perplexities
penetrating the permeable flesh
probing questions that create unrest

while psalms
placate one’s pensivity
ensuing one’s proclivity
pausing perspiration
from pouring out one’s pores

perhaps you think this pointless
stupid or vain
yet it may be precisely and perfectly
pivotally sane
