Before There was Rhyme
Virginia Salter

Before there was rhyme
could there have been reason
before there was time
could there have been season?

Before there was you
could there have been dreams
before there were rivers
could there have been streams?

Before there was moon
to balance the sun
before there was pain
to balance the fun
before there was death
to enhance more of life
could there have been joy
in an absence of strife?

So let me take nights
on home with my days
let me take sanity
to even my craze
let me rejoice
and lift hands in praise
for the good and the sad
that awakens my ways.

VAS,
The yin and the yan
The spin of life's span . . .

Enjoyed this.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.          Wm Wordsworth  (I Wondered Lonely as a Cloud)
