Walking the Night

I came to you
within the night
walked beneath
the moon’s
high lights
through the
fog, the mist,
the dark,

came to find
my inner
spark

came to find
my sweet’s
caress

came to find
my love’s
bequest

searched…

in shift so sheer
I felt no fear
I felt not cold
this love
made me bold
to come
and seek
through mist
to peek

to search….

through thicket
thick

through meadows
quick

saw fairies
flick

soft lights
at me

through dreaming
scheme

beyond moon’s
beam

ahead of the
dawn

I searched…

but all I
did, all
that got done

was a walk
in the night

for you
were gone

You had only to follow the footsteps
left in the dew
And you would have found me walking about
searching for you.

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.

Lady--so full of longing this search in the night...what a beautiful scene you painted though...quite like magic.

I really felt the longing in this poem, and it does not have to be night either does it?  Great job, I loved this one.
