Fog, I Love the Fog

Some find the fog a vision blinder
but I, I think it is much kinder

I’ve walked its private evening mist
and always on the cheek I’m kissed

By all who in the mist have found
a freedom guarded but now unbound

It is not but a mourning shroud
It is instead, enveloping cloud

It is not but a cloaking curtain
It is to me an intimate, certain

And in its blanket of caress
I am wrapped within such finesse

That the world around becomes all mine
now and each and every time.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.          Wm Wordsworth  (I Wondered Lonely as a Cloud)

Yes, the fog can be many things....but with the right mind....most refreshing....

Welcome to Passions!  Check your e-mail for a special greeting!

Thanks for posting this wonderful perspective on fog.  I believe I could feel this way while walking through fog; then I would be going slowly enough.  It's the driving in it that's so disconcerting, those things hiding in the mist can real themselves in much too little time to react for the speed at which I might be travelling.

Your poem took me back to a walk in a mist, it is a rather nice feeling, like a gentle, quiet bathing, (he he, I almost typed 'basting' but I got it corrected.)

Welcome, painted lady.  What a wonderful relaxing poem.  I like the fog as long I don't have to drive in it.  Thanks for sharing.  Hugs,  ME

Thank you all for the warm and kind welcome!  It's nice to be here.

SEA - "kinda magical", I agree.
Sunshine - thanks for the special greeting!
Janet Marie - thank you for the "wonderful".  The lines you quoted took a bit of fiddlin' with, glad you liked how they turned out.
1slick_lady - thank you, and glad that you enjoyed, you must be a "foggie" too.
Poet deVine - thanks for the welcome.
Marge Tindall - My fog is now your fog too.
vandana - hope to enjoy your work too, must go look for it...
VAS - please do slow down enough.  This comes in part from my youthful days when a walk in the fog was just that, before it became a hinderance to getting somewhere.  The fog was the somewhere, and still can be.  (and the "quiet bathing" sounds like fun, hehe)
Mother_Earth - good that you were wonderfully relaxed.  Hugs back to you.
2dalimit - glad you were pleased, Melton.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.          Wm Wordsworth  (I Wondered Lonely as a Cloud)
