Rain, Glorious Rain!
Virginia Salter

rain,  rain, glorious rain
singin’ rain
dancin’ rain
dripping from the eaves
splashin’ hard and high
springin’ from the spider webs
showerin’ a fly
music for the earth
swelling up the birth
of buds and blossoms
frogs and ‘possums
fillin’ me with mirth

falling to the land
drivin’ to the sea
spinnin’ cartwheels
in my brain
dressin’ me with glee
rivulets and rills
flowin’ through the hills
down, down
on through town
over rocks they spill
bringin’ wet
t’ seeds and roots
sprinklin’ up those
high top boots
landin’ on all lads and lasses
spottin’ up
m’ grampa’s glasses
an’ sendin’ me for tea

"springin' from the spider webs
and showerin' a fly"

Love this VAS!  It's rainin' here and this fits right in...
A fun read!  Thank you.

The land here needs the rain so badly, but now, in the 13th hour of rain, I'm ready for some let up so I can work in the yard that's been freshened well with showers.  It's not soggy yet, though, so I guess I'd better not complain.  Gettin' stuff done inside, at least, because of it.

Thanks all, for reading and your kind and wonderful comments.
