A Touch of Ideal

I’m not so in love with this body or mind
That I’d sorrow departure or those left behind
But I’d like to leave some pen points veneer
To brighten an eye or fill up an ear

It’s never the task that tires you out
But recognition that brings about doubt.
It’s never the hardship that wears you down
But being ridiculed likes that of a clown.

It’s never another that causes your fall
But admission you are not ten feet tall.
It’s never the circumstance that makes you ill
But the choice of your ego taking this pill

You’re as tall as a mountain as broad as a sail
With never a thought that you’d ever fail
You fly like an eagle o’er canyons of awe
With never a thought that you cannot do more

With this as your guide this earth and this sky
You’ll live every day with the never of why.

Sy, you know I've printed off your poem "The Golden Key".

This, too, I shall wear like a cape, and keep close by for reading, daily.

Thank you my friend...this is wonderful!
