State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2001-04-12 01:50 AM

When we started out
It was like a dream come true
We went together
Like the stars and the moon
I opened her door
Put my jacket over puddles too
And everybody said
There goes April's fool

Well, it wasn't long
'Til we decided to get married
It was like a fairytale
Fulfilling dreams I'd always carried
We had it all worked out
Something borrowed, something blue
Little did I know
I'd end up April's fool

There I was standing
At the altar waiting for her
Sweat running down my brow
Wond'ring if she knew how I adored her
When she never showed
What was I to do?
I walked away with tears in my eyes
Heartbroken, April's fool

There's something 'bout this time of year
That always make me wonder
If she ever looks back
If she even remembers
They say April showers bring May flowers
But they only make me blue
Cause whenever springtime comes around
I'm always April's fool

I hope this isn't from personal experience, cause I lived this 30 years ago!

awwww  take your calendar and give this month a new name...very sad Jeffrey, but I am sure you are not a fool...I looked this u p for you in my own archives that I wrote 2 years ago this time:

She Feels The Fool

Overcast and breezy now, she came outside to cool off, at first to relax and to rid herself from the stuffiness of a humid summer-like day spent inside an 100 year old home ... only to run into "His Stuffiness"

... words said ... words heard ... words felt

She entered the screenroom, seating herself into an overly plumped, cushioned wicker settee fighting back tears. Cool breeze blowing through, top lip feeling numb...
Don't know whether it is from pressing lips together trying to suffocate the words of hurt and anger she has at the moment...no make that a year's worth of pain and hurt that has been welling up inside ... bubbling hot ... ready to boil over ... trying hard to cool it down, to let it simmer...but it's useless.

Mind racing ... thoughts from only a moment ago ... "Do you think I am a fool!" she says to him. "Do you think I can't tell when you are lying to me?... I see it in your eyes." As he glances away.
"You think I don't hurt when you don't come home on time ... and you say you were here ... or there ... but you are nowhere  to be found? And when asked by others, can never tell them where you might be?"
She feels The Fool ... She wears the look ... She cries the tears ... She screams her fears ... outwards, inwards ...

She feels The Fool.

And in poem form:

She feels The Fool, as all can see
For many years devoted, she
But came a time, she can't recall
When things began, the change, the fall

Once outward much, now inward more
She holds thoughts back, not trying to store
The loss of love she feels so much
No passion's kiss, no lover's touch

The more she tries, the more a fool
No matter what, he breaks the rule
In eyes she sees, the lies he tells
His taste for drink, he cannot quell

Responds to her, his head hung down
With smirk on face, or worse a frown
She feels The Fool, for want of hug
Or one more kiss, but gets a shrug

For just one moment, the sun has shown
A ray of hope, she's not alone
And then her thoughts, his words again
This battle's lost, one more to end

As heated words begin to cool
And once again, she feels the The Fool.

**Now that is feeling "The Fool".**

Maureen

Oh Jeffery, here's a big ole hug for you! This was expressed so well, it tugged at my heartstrings, what pain! Into my library this goes, I only hope that it's not true!~

Take care,
Melissa~

Oh Jeffrey, this is heartbreaking!!  I hope this is just a great piece of writing and not a reflection of your life.  That would be so sad my friend.

By the way, welcome back!!!!!!

by the grace of God.
