Deep in the heart

I search,
The dense fog
Obscuring my sight,
For a glimpse of thee
To embolden me,
Gird me for confrontation.
Meeting thine eyes,
Not reading thy words,
Should be like looking into the sun
With no protective lens.
For thy words pummel me
And caress me.
They prick my skin
And soothe my soul.
They lift me up
And comfort me.
They cause my blood to race.
And thy words
DO make me tingle
With anticipation,
Longing for the next word,
The next verse,
The next read.
If thine words,
Thine WRITTEN words,
Can do so much to me,
Then hearing thy voice
Should strike me deaf.
The fog of my mind
Obscures the reality of thee
Guarding my heart
From loss.
So I ache
And read
Thee.

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.
