I Long
April 9th, 2001
Copyright 2001 Doug Pretorius

I long to find
it
close at hand
close to heart
I spent time for time
searching
needing to know
we weren't far apart

I long for home
and joy
the fire of passions
the fire left burning
to guide me to the place
I have somehow always known

I long for friends
dear friends
my family, my sharers
in the songs and tears
all that flows
from our depths and ends

I long to be empty
of the sorrows
making room
for the wonders
you share so freely
here in this place
this cyber space
where dreams are free
to roam and soar
To the heights you show
we guide one another
through the journey
that is our soul

I long
for this place of dance
and song
and I have found it
in you
in your elegant
voices of words
speaking beauty
to share
to teach
to learn
the passions
in poetry

I long
no longer

It's interesting how long it takes a newbie to feel this contentment..this comraderie. I'm glad you found your way here..guess that trail of virtual bread crumbs did the trick!
