(this may be the only poem I ever write/post but poetry means a lot to Kathleen, so I wrote this for her)

                        'YOU ARE'
You are more precious than silver or gold
You are more precious than the breath that I hold
Through this journey that we call life
You are God's chosen one to be my wife
As we sail through life's  seas filled with rifts
You are my anchor from which I cannot drift
Though others may temp and try to tease
You are the one I long to please
You have born our children. they number three
That you are their mother is a blessing to me
Through each night tired and weary I sleep
It is your countenance alone that I keep
You are the one to whom my love is given
You are to me God's gift from heaven
You are more precious than silver or gold
You are more precious than the life that I hold

With all my love, Johnnie

Thank you for reading, I know she spends a lot of time on here,
and we both appreciate the comfort she has received from Passions.

You know...to create a poem in an arena where your wife spends a lot of time with people and post it publically for all of them to see, tells me that you are two very lucky people.  You are a pretty awesome to openly expose your love for your wife.  I loved your poem and I see she did too

Johnnie...you said it very well...to take the time, to write a rhyme, to share  your thoughts of timeless loving of Kathleen  is  more beautiful than even the words alone can say. She is special to  me, us...and you are special to her...I wish for you  both many years of health and happiness and sharing.

what a wonderful tribute and beautiful sentiments for your wife~!!

the only thing either of my ex-husbands wrote for me was lists of what i needed to do to improve so that i would be acceptable to them.... ROFL... just kidding, neither really wrote that down, it was all just verbalized.... so, i never had anything written for me, really!!!!

anyway, it's wonderful to see such love in a marriage..... you are both truly blessed....

Johnnie, I dream of the day when someone writes a poem expressing his love for me... and doubt that day will ever come. So believe me... this is probably more precious to your wife than anything a department store could ever offer... it's straight from a loving heart! *S* Welcome to passions... and don't stop writing... this is beautiful!

no wonder she's always on here, you people are wonderful,  so many replies, thank you, I really am not a poet, do you know how long I worked on this.    Seriously, I was just trying to cheer her up because she has (mood swings) boy does she--am I in trouble for saying that!!  But it was fun and maybe I will post another sometime, I think I embarrassed her this is the first time I've ever logged on.  Glad I did, thank you all so very much.
