tell me have you seen Miranda?
someone please put out an APB
seems she's been lost for some time
civilization no longer free
and have you read the constitution?
altered words of our forefathers?
changing what set us apart
free as long as we pay restitution
guilty 'til we prove otherwise
judged by the color of our eyes
turning "justice for all" into lies
and i watch as the lady with the torch cries
America now hides in shame
soldiers once brave now
untrusting of their game
the torch burns steadily
but the land of the free
has been stolen from you and me
amended amendments
have been washed out to sea
did they ask you if you agree?
I know they didn't ask me!

Julie :)

I love this satirical look at the fall of justice in America! Well written!

I agree, but it's just so easy to fall into it...we all get involved in the daily struggle to hold on to that piece of American Pie...sometimes I think we get so tired from the struggle that we just don't notice that the menu is being slowly altered and cheaper ingredients substituted seemingly without notice! Okay, that's my editorial for the day! Thanks for think! Enjoyed.
