Sirocco
By: Noah Eaton
11/20/00

At night, I dream that I’m in love with my one true girl
We speak sweet words to each other
Melting our hearts as we hear them fill our souls
I hold her close to me, she whispers soothing words
That flow into my ear like the waves of the ocean
And our lips meet, we make soft sweet kisses,
as the shadows of love cast against the wall

That’s when it all falls down on me as I open my eyes
To see myself standing in the desert of my heart alone
Emblazed by a sirocco, a lovesick spell
A phoenix blanket encumbering me
leaving me parched for the longing of her

I am longing to unravel the search for my love,
longing to uncover my greatest desire
While I’m recuperating from this lovesickness,
sometimes pinning me like a tie that wraps around my neck too tight

I amble across the embankments of these ruins to the ocean
Where all my fantasies reflect in the breaking of the waves
Fighting this effervescing condition, finding my way home
Hoping to come back with the comfort of knowing it won’t be too long
To the day I fall in love with the girl of my dreams,
and I could feel most comfortable and happy knowing I won’t face this enigma again
When I’m by her side, looking into her beautiful eyes, seeing her smile in delight,
knowing that we will be in each others hearts forever

I take the stride into the ocean, easing my mind from my embrangled state
Breaching against the tiderip with a savior-faire that cuts clean through like a ratchet
Loosening myself of the knots of confusion and float above the vallies and above the mountains
And I fall into myself again, feathered in lovesickness again

I feel somewhat lost and dazed, and my heart beats on for the longing of love
Fueling myself with the breeze of confidence, but aflame yet in passions heat
The sirocco that burns within me will pass soon enough
To be followed with a spring rain of true lovers embrace

In every sirocco is an oasis, a place in the heart of the desert where thirst is quenched.
So it will be for you, my friend!! Enjoyed this very much!!

Live...Love...Be grateful for both!!

Fabulous! There were many great lines in this one, like 'leaving me parched for the longing of her'. And you used several words that I don't see very often.

As always you fill us with romantic longing and share your deep desire for that special one, that special love.

Bravo good friend!
