lying still, panic stricken
feeling nothing but sheer terror and pain
my heart aching... slowly crumbling
with the dagger of hatred thrust into my breast
the blood stained hands of the asassin
gently touching my cheek as I lie lifeless
with my last breath I utter "why?"
as I slowly slip into the dark abyss
I suddenly hear only four words
uttered from the killers lips
spoken with anger and disgust
"I don't love you"
with those words, I was delt the fatal blow
because no wound could ever compare
to the wound of a broken heart

Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death.

I have heard those words.  But it does not do you any good for me to say...you will survive.

An intense write, indeed.

Of course when we love someone we want them to feel the same...and how heartbreaking when we realize it may not happen...James

Yes, but the heart doesn't die..only gets wounded...Only hope sometimes dies, so we can't loose that. I felt the pain in this one and perhaps some anger. Enjoyed!
