Forgiveness, Pish-tosh!
Virginia Salter

My words meant no disrespect
they were words intended to caress
to brighten that spot in you that was already so aglow
Your words back to me
spoke forgiveness for my lack of understanding
oh, yes, they spoke such divinity
of acquittal, of true pardon
yet actions show
they all were lies
lies that we all despise
yet uttered them on printed page
glossing over
your silent rage
your pact to move silently
about and away from me
reflecting grudge
of mass proportions
displaying no intention
of overcoming deep emotions
to bar me, to ban me
from receiving one
real token
of that
which you purport
to have been your state of mind
to treat me truly kind
and forgive
my err
that you were
stronger there
within your heart and mind
you’d only grow
in whom you are
heading toward a shining star
that lights the world
with word and deed
beyond the pain
of need and greed

Virginia..."words intended to caress..." I think that Emily Dickinson would have liked that.....which reminds me...(am I at my three post limit for the day....if not...) Thanks for sharing Virginia.  Bob
