Airline Blues

Arose this morning with thoughts of a good day,
The airline said, sorry you might have to stay.

Already checked out of the hotel room,
So you can image my plans were in doom.

Also took back the rental car,
Now my thoughts were to go to the bar.

Wanting to be back home, in my bed tonight,
Did not matter, I lost the flight.

How they manage to do business that way,
I will never understand, why they keep us at bay.

Forty –five minutes early they closed the flight,
Asked why, they said I don’t care mister go fly a kite.

Finally they got me a seat on standing-by,
To another connection, another city, oh my.

Seats so close, like in a can of sardines,
Two hours of flying only made everyone mean.

As I go to board the next connection,
Find out no seat, I had no confirmation.

Once again I am on the stand-by blues,
Wondering why, knowing already I paid my dues.

Not knowing if my luggage will meet me there,
By this time, I have the temper of a bear.

Well I finally landed and I have my bags,
With all I said I must sound like a nag.

Then when I arrive all stressed out at home,
What’s that I hear, oh no it’s work on the phone.

It was my boss and this is what he had to say,
A network’s down make a flight for this day.

So back to the airport to deal with the fools,
But at least, I have verses now, to sing the Airline blues.

And even considering all this woe, one man nods yes and away I go! LOL (Just let the delays be on the way back so they don't rob me of a minute there. *G*) Well done!!!

Sea,
Thank you, I do fly a lot, but every once in a while this happens, so I thought this time I would have some fun with it.

Paula,
Thank you for reading.

helen,
Now that i have passions, i don't have to just sit here.... thank you.

suthern,
Yes, yes,,, every time the phone rings... away i go.  And sometimes i wish that that the home airports, where the screw up, but it always seems like it is the one on the trip home..   Besides your at there mercy, can not just get in the car and go back home... that's what they think, i think...lol

Thank you all, just having fun on the plane, and waiting for my ride home at the airport, kids got lost picking me up...lol

This is one of those war stories---lol! Altho, the frustration is apparent, I'm glad to see you still smiling! Can ya spare any frequent flyer miles?   You really expanded your horizons poetically, here!
okay, okay, I'll quit goofing on ya, great work B---I can relate to frustration with a healthy dose of sense of humor! enjoyed.
