If beauty were a rose,
then the most perfect rose
I would name thee

Beauty of form
and of heart grace thee

thy maker made thee well,
shaping and molding ,
with the gentle hands of a sculptor
working with soft clay

Petals soft and flawless,
leaves blowing gracefully
like dancers on the wind

How can one pick you
and deprive the world
of such beauty?

How can hands so awkward
hold you and not crush you?

I am but an ordinary man
reaching out toward perfection
in hope you will melt
my stone cold heart

you oh perfect rose.
