Companion Moon

When silence looms and rooms cannot contain
what burns the soul with salt of sorrow's brew,
unleash my feet to roam this earthly plane,
to drift alone through mist and meadow rue.
While satin moon, my own companion near,
allows unfurled, my heart's most fragile fold,
I search the night for words, my love to hear,
that moon might but beguile them into gold.
But whispered kiss, instead of word, escapes
to evening's layered veil of gilded sky.
'Neath starry sea my pen will ever scrape,
each kiss a verse of luna's lullaby.

How long, Companion Moon, must I abide
these words of love, no more the need to hide?

Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau

And you certainly do just that, my dear.

Another lovely write from you, dear poet.

I'm pretty sure tha "WOW" most likely does not meet the standard for constructive critique, so be it. Your command of image and language deserves such.

I've been gone for a bit, and came back looking for some of my favorite poets, and I find one.
The way you weave words in such soft, imaginative verses is beautiful.  Silk spun.
