May I humbly say that I am awe-stricken by this piece, for it has touched my mind and heart in a way nothing else I have ever read has.  It was a privilege to read your collaborative work.  It is not much - but that is my offering to you both and I congratulate you on your 8000th post.

Words escape me.. an incredible collaboration and the graphics exceptional as well. My grandmother was from the Blackfoot nation and I'm sorry to say this beautiful heritage was never passed down to the children, or the grandchildren. Reading this I can almost feel my grandmother's tears.. thank you for sharing this lovely poem and congratulations on your 8000 post.

Blessings always,

Kate

Thank you wont begin to express my gratitude...
but I humbly thank ~each~ of you on both mine and Marks behalf.
Thank you to all ...
for helping me celebrate these gentle people and my milestone post.
To the many of you who said your words didnt do us justice...
please know they went far beyond that.
A special thank you to Marge for the added gift of the lovely music...
(cowboy says hugs and smooches for that)
I know this thread takes a while to load for many..including my self..
I thank you all for your patience and compliments.
I hope anyone who enjoys the pics
will use the link to Kemper Galleries and see them there...
I had to cut them down to fit on the thread
and they are even more lovely in their full display there.
Thank you all again so much for your wonderful responses.
Love and respect to Poetry Land

Listen children to a story
that was written long ago
bout a kingdom on a mountain
and the valley folk below
On the mountain was a treasure
buried deep beneath a stone
and the valley people swore
they'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbour
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven.
Justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
come the judgement day,
on the bloody morning after
one tin soldier rides away........

So the people of the valley
sent a message up the hill
asking for the buried treasure
tons of gold for which they'd kill.
Came an answer from the kingdom
"With our brothers we will share,
all the secrets of our mountain
all the riches buried there."

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses draw your sword!"
and they killed the mountain people
so they won their just reward.
Now they stood beside the treasure
on the mountain dark and red
turned the stone and looked beneath it,
"PEACE ON EARTH" was all it said!.......

Go ahead and hate your neighbour.
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven.
Justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
come the judgement day,
on the bloody morning after
one tinsoldier rides away....................

I told you I'd be back... and I still haven't even begun to fully absorb such perfection. *S* And here at the library, I can hear the music... so the beauty is enhanced once again. *S*

Janet Marie there really are no words to describe how your poetry touches all that reads and responds....the paintings you have chosen to go along with this are just as magical....

so very beautiful...

~Can I say, am I allowed,...is it all right to call this, both beautiful AND haunting?  I just don't know you two, how you could take something so delicate and present it so perfectly. I am very impressed with the whole of this. The words are so meaningful and truly get inside and the display and sounds accompanying, take the poem and paint it all over me. Wonderful. *Peace poets.

No, I did not miss this one...how could I?  Life has been extremely hectic this past week or so.  But, I will tell you guys now that the imagery in this takes my breath away...but, that's not surprising...'cuz, well, the Teach and JM wrote this one!  What else could you expect??  But, seriously, this is stunningly gorgeous...and, it's great to hear from the Teach, too...make sure you tell him that he is missed, and he needs to write something so you can post it for him again...since he can't seem to *ahem* get to a computer HIMSELF...hehe...
OH, yeah...make sure he knows that the METS are so gonna kick cardinal butt this year...but, I don't think I have to tell him that...hehe... ...but, do make sure he knows he needs to get his booty back in here soon!

SP ... on phone with cowboy...
he says to ask you ...

Is the 10 to ZIP score (with Montreal having the 10 ...METS being ZERO)this weekend...
is this the way the Mets plan on kicking anyones butt this year???
If you look hard enough you might find a highschool team or two that the Mets might be able to score against ... however you probably wont find one that they can actually beat.
I comend you on the fact that your a loyal fan because only a true fan would support a worthless collection of misfits so passionately.
Thank you so much for the reply on the poem,
so glad you enjoyed it..
and I will see what I can do about having JM post one for me soon.
Teach says dont forget the rhyme and imagery.
Practice writing about Cardinals.!!!

Sp... now that hes done with his BLAH BLAH..
thank you much for the replies and congrats.
So glad you got to see this one...
I know how much you appreciate imagery

OK...I truly was not going to acknowledge that, um, let's just be safe and go with NONSENSE talk from the cowboy, who's obviously disillusional.  I think it's too much time on the road...eh??  Yep, that's it...all them thar fumes gettin' to his head...make sure you tell him that, JM, will ya?  Thanks a mil...and to think, all I said was that the METS are going to kick some cardinal butt this year, and he came up with ALL that...hmm...is SOMEONE a little insecure?  HMMM...somethin' to ponder.     OK...I'll stop now...after all, this is supposed to be about the beautiful poem you guys have written, isn't it?  Yeah...well, at least you've got that goin' fer ya, m'friend...cuz your taste in baseball teams leaves quite a lot to be desired...
p.s.
thanks, JM, for puttin' up with all this blah blah blah!!

This is without a doubt, a masterpiece. I am stunned at the beauty of the words and imagery. It's worth reading many times over, and each time I read this I am sure it will bring new understanding and appreciation.
I miss not being online as much as I would like to be, but I hope to see more and more writing from you two.
Whatever you do, don't stop writing!
Beautiful, just beautiful.

Janet (and Mark)

I just came in for a second read, and it's even more captivating and awesome as it was the first time! I'm really very proud of you both

But, if I may add my comments on the baseball race, THE TORONTO BLUE JAYS WILL KICK CARDINAL AND MET BUTT THIS YEAR NO QUESTION! hehehe
