There’s not much in it –
a smile
   a touch, a bump of
shoulder against arm

it’s enough
to remember the wharf
and wind. The churning inside –
sea-struck

this one, these eyes, they aren’t
the same:

it’s all too fresh and if the trembling
can’t be controlled, well
those other eyes had promised
to wait

this is natural – it’s what attraction is

(Just shudder out the memory of gulls and peace
and patterns.  That face no longer
there in the morning - sleep-crinkled)

All obscurity starts with a danger:
Your dangers are many. I
Cannot look much but your form suffers
Some strange injury
Sylvia Plath

Congratulations on post number 5000!! I remember some of your early posts, and how you gradually opened up in the discussion forums...and then became a Moderator. You've come a long way...

But your poetry has always remained the same...unique, fresh, insightful and imaginative. It's always a pleasure to read you!!

Imagining our reactions is always so much different than what they wind up being it seems. Still, we wonder. Another masterful muse your vagueness.
