The world is turned upon its end My broken dreams on whirling wind And left without a loving friend All for something called “pretend” Prismatic waves of wakeful bliss Each ray so new I almost miss The true importance known of this I close my eyes and feel your kiss The static sun will pierce my skin Each pore, receptive, lets you in My mask was always somewhat thin Would not your pretence be akin? We dance entwined both soft and slow In words and feelings love will grow In heart where two will come to know The waltz of love on God’s plateau Our cards are filled in destined dance Still in youth and born our chance To take upon a lover’s stance And fall upon the sunbeam’s trance The sunbeam scatters on the shield Our fates divide yet they are sealed On guard our passion not revealed But free, our heart, a bounty’s yield The world is something we don’t share I’ll ride the wind to meet you there For in our hearts we bleed despair Let droplets show we’ll always care [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (edited 04-05-2001).] |

For some reason when I read this I'm in a car and it's raining down the windshield and I'm thinking about someone I love. I picture this poem being created in those circumstances.
