It was in my mind
to cry today
to leave behind
a sigh today
to get it on
and get it gone
yes, it was in my
mind
to cry today

but I looked around
when I heard a peep,
a baby robin
had woke from sleep,
and in the peep
I heard a song
of life to live
and rights
heaved
from wrong

this frail bird
this bit of fluff
in April’s wind
had stood enough
yet with might
of feather
and strength
of heart
it rendered a song
it would impart

ah sweet bird
you give me hope
you sing my soul
allow me cope
so though
it was in my mind
to cry today
to leave behind
a sigh today
to get it on
and get it gone
in your song
I shall not sigh
no, in your hope
I shall feather myself
in your song
and thus, fly high
to where I belong

Sometimes the smallest things help us tie a knot in the end of our frayed rope and hang on... hope for a moment becomes resolve for a day. *S* Great work!

What a simply elegant poem.  You combined human emotions and nature beautifully.  Extremely well done and I hope you don't mind I shall keep this one.

Such a lovely message of hope ~

Beautifully rendered.

rarely have I seen strength and empowerment written so delicately.
This is so fragile and lovely.
