No Joy in Mudville

Awoke this morning, overcome
Sadness filled the air.
And watered down my landscaping,
Leaving feelings bare.

Those muddied thoughts kept me in check,
No hopefulness in sight.
Sighing, deeply, wishing for
A Knight filled want of night.

Borrowing a few words sweet
My mind stirs, once again.
"A thousand kisses", echo each
Wondering "if" and "when".

There is no joy in Mudville,
Remembering I, those words.
The loneliness, I feel this day,
From emptiness I heard.

My inner soul is wanting out,
To feel again, embrace.
The sorrow's in containment now,
A suffering, needs erase.

Await I will, 'til darkness falls
To feel your breath cascade.
"If" only in my dreams of heart
"When" loving never fades.

Invaded mind, my body, soul
In corner painted tight,
Protected I, then feel caressed
when Knight shows in my night.

To last me through the moonheld sky
That reigns from up above
"If" and "When" the tears have dried
No scars... just joy of love.

~Wynter...
a friendly challenge of title
with Kethry to see, compare...
my morning began quite dismal
with a Knight of dreams to only share

"The worst prison would be a closed heart".

Oh Wynter this is so good. I wish I'd read this first, then I could have adapted mine so I had a chance of "taking the title"
