Icy waterfalls hitting
the jagged rocks below
as young does trample
the freshly fallen snow
One falls and the wolf
is alert for the kill
a breeze drifts by
and I feel strangely ill

The wind shrills through
the now snow covered pines
shrine to life this place is mine
far away from heartless humanity
Even though if I stay long
I will surely freeze

I should fly south
as my pulsing instinct reminds
but no cares have I
for I wish to stay but a little time

Majestic snow capped mountains
dot the distant plains
Do I gaze in vain?
For If I don't leave I will
surely die!

But who needs life
when one can die
seeing wonders such as these

When spring comes
all come to life
except one robin
frozen
perched on yonder high tree
gazing in delight
with sightless eyes
at the past snowy scene.

This is amazing - a fine example of being taken in by the glory of the moment, not heeding the dangers around us....

well done Sir!
