My heart just seemed to shatter,
As I hung up the phone.
The decision was a hard one...
To live my life alone.

To no longer hear, “I love you”-
And receive your sunny smiles.
I climbed back in that truck of mine,
And cried nine hundred miles.

Nine hundred miles of sorrow-
Nine hundred miles of tears.
What was only fourteen hours-
Seemed to be nine hundred years.

All our plans just seemed to vanish-
We both wept just like a child.
When I said, “Goodbye, I love you”...
Then I cried nine hundred miles.

Nine hundred miles of sorrow-
Nine hundred miles of pain.
The worst consideration is-
I’ll not see you again!

I guess it’s part of living-
Just another of life’s trials...
But I threw away the one I loved
And cried nine hundred miles.

Gunslinger, this stings. It reminds me of the Journeymen's "A Hundred Miles" ~ nicely written, thanks for it.
