~*~ Words ~*~

by Mysteria

My mind is drifting off softly,
Now satiated with tonight's poetry,
I reflect on a day spent with my muse.
It is my love of words, just simple words,
How they flow together and caress me.
Am I daydreaming or is it really night?
But the imagines are still too clear.
I see them one by one as if
Yellowed pages turn in an old
Photograph album in my mind.
I have no control; they begin
To leap from my resistant fingertips,
So eager to delve into the darkest,
Deepest, caverns of my memory.
Soon they explore majestic mountains
Plains, forests, streams, flowers,
Once seen pictures still in focus.
These hands of which I have no control,
Begin, bewitched, to write of days,
Carpeted in love, anger, anticipation,
Trepidation, excitement, fulfillment, need,
sorrow, everything and a lot of nothing.
They shadow the edges of leaves,
Ride ribbons of the blinding sunlight.
They are crystal clear but
Jagged fractures of what are
My avenues of crystalline thoughts.
They fly on the wings of angels,
And plummet to the very depths of hell,
Inflicting unbearable pain.
They weave wispy messages of hope,
In what is a never-ending darkness.
They provide the luminous vapors
That brightens an evening sky.
The are the gossamer wings of silver,
Rainbows, pots of gold,
These nebulous lines begin
To gather together in unison,
Making some acute sense
Of my angry and troubled soul.
Words weft of any history,
That fly through the warp of time itself,
Renewing, refreshing, rejuvenating.
Words like a delicately,
Intricate woven lattice basket,
Holes just big enough to let light through.
When the words resound into prominence
Like that of a symphony,
Or the purest sound of a song,
A feeling of acute wisdom gently washes over me,
Intricate circuitry of my mind
feels somehow complete.
Poetic bliss become reality and a poem is born.
Of castles, kings, things with wings,
Of love, honesty, truth, betrayal.
A constant hope for love of mankind.
Just simple thoughts run through my mind.
As I honor my muse, and through words,
I am in poetic bliss.

I adored this, and with the music of Yanni, what perfection.  A keeper for sure.

catalinamoon ~*~ Thank you so much for taking the time to read yet another one of my epic rambles.

Gentle Spirit ~*~ (love your name)...I too adore Yanni, but let me suggest another while I have you - a pianist Lori-Anne Speed, "In The Wake Of A Whisper", she is awesome! Thanks for reading.

Irish Rose ~*~ You are so sweet, but you know when I write it is never work - I have a smile on my face the whole time.  I write for me so it is easy, as I put no expectations on it. Thank you so much for your kind words always

Lone Wolf ~*~ Again, you are too kind with your comments, but I do appreciate you reading that is the important part to me!

Mike ~*~ Thank you for your time in reading.

It is always such a wonderful feeling when words can just flow so easily...there is so much to write about, isn't there?...and you write about writing about it so brilliantly

I took the road less traveled..now where the hell AM I???

Why have they made dictionaries so dull, when you are proof that words are bautiful and magical.  Shame on Mr. Webster.  Joyce

The most beautiful things are created out of love, and your love of language has created a masterpiece of a poem.

Sometimes, the things that go unsaid are the only things worth hearing.
