Front Porch Red was the color that greeted the eye Approaching our doorway in summers gone by For what is a porch without rockers and chairs And flowers of red when you walk up the stairs We’d sit there and talk about nothing at all The summer days passing, the coming of fall Some cool lemonade and a banister laced With sixteen Geraniums lovingly placed |

This definitely shows a vivid picture in my mind, so beautifully portrayed with so many colors of flowers lining the porch. Also so peaceful, we don't do this enough anymore. Sitting on the porch and just sharing our day |

and I can see the cat sitting just close enough to the rocking chair to play "mouse" with it's tail 'neath the rocker's rail.... |

For what is a porch without rockers and chairs This brought back so many memories of so many front porches...my favorite part of any house. Thanks! Speak when you are angry--and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret...Laurence J. Peter |

A wonderful poem about something I used to take for granted, I have a small one and I appreciated this. |

I could see and feel the warm summer nights when upon the porch we rocked, and I from Grandmother's lap learned of stars and all things important. "I am not now that which I have been." |

Elizabeth, Beautiful- made me think of home when I was young sitting on our front porch surrounded by roses and Lilies of the Valley. We drew and colored in our coloring books and drank lemonade and smelled those flowers above all the other my mother planted. Thanks. Panne |

And don't forget the front porch swing... its gentle movement sifts the cares from the day. *S* I love this, Elizabeth... your words painted such a vivid picture I can smell the spicy scent of the geraniums! *G* |

This is one of the most beautiful poems i have ever had the pleasure of reading. Thank you for the read and for brightening my day. Sometimes, the things that go unsaid are the only things worth hearing. |
