Reflections off a looking glass |

I pick a looking glass the wise men call it a mirror and I look at a reflection just to see what I see checking my outlook it shows a picture of my head that goes back into my head and I see crocodiles swimming dancing with dolphins almost a case of synchronised swimming grunge music of pearl jam in tune with vivaldi's concert of four seasons! I sit to refine the images as I see these dragons sitting and chanting a hymn smoking weeds in false nirvana with hermits in a patient wait invoking their gods for redemption the music changes and there are overtones of dark black metal the kind that bad boys of the seventies listened to. I did too. where is truth when I need it the most? and they say 'truth shall prevail' I believe them, I believe every word and then push the beliefs away! in deep thought, I feel the ache the ache to purge violent thoughts as I plead the ghosts to leave, but they tap my shoulders from the insides of my head and say, 'we are memories from your yesterdays, and we will remain'. I sigh. my face faces me and my race races me and the speed strikes my senses and I shut my eyes with force -- but that only shuts the light away while the etching of my head's sketch remains and my head hurts, can't shut that out, can I? I weaken. no sedatives will help, none had ever did, the burn is deep inside nothing will defuse it. so inward I look towards the depths within my soul's kitchen and that shows another reflection of whatever was being lost plunging deep is the knife of a loss cutting the strings of emotions so depressing that I change the subject and look outside the window towards the faraway horizon, it has moved, and so has everything I needed from life, perspectives have changed, like everything else, but the spring sun is still there shining and bright, 'tomorrow it is going to rain', so the forecast says, 'but today is a sunny bright day' the still mirror is standing with my face reflecting on it but I will have a fresh look tomorrow. '!' [This message has been edited by Sudhir Iyer (edited 04-03-2001).] |
