I Told My Heart...

I told my heart to tell you
But it could not explain
The feeling that it holds
The love that it retains

It just could not express
The words too hard to find
To make you understand
What’s going through my mind

To let you know your friendship
Has meant the world to me
A special friend and angel
I’m sure God will agree

So how can I let you know
About the things we’ve shared
The times we laughed so hard
The tears that show you cared

How precious is each moment
That I have shared with you
If only my heart’d tell you
The things I wish you knew

I told my heart to tell you
But it could not explain
The feeling that it holds
The love that it retains

Beautiful!  Your words so well expressed that words cannot express your deep feelings.  This would be a great one for a card, as I'm sure many relate to it.

Lovely expression of love!

A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes.

Thanks Mom, I will consider Sharon's advice on putting it on my site as a card to send out.

Becca,

Your heart may not have been able to find the words, but obviously your brain did.  This is an outstanding poem...and YES!!!!  I am back...been too long.  I am like that distant cousin that everybody loves, but lives too far away, so you only get to see him only on certain times.  LOL  Wouldn't you agree.  Well maybe not...LOL...not too sure if anyone here loves me at all...LOL  Anyway...OUTSTANDING poem.

On this day of remembering Rebecca ... it truly surprises me not to see a reply from me on this post ... for I have loved this piece so much through the years, and it has framed and hung in my bedroom for many years~

It is a remembering treasure of our WhiteDovie~

Happy-birth-of-day dear angel~
